Its not seeing the Yankees that I get any special pleasure from, its
specifically seeing them play the Giants, their former inter-city rival.
For a while the Yankees played in the Giants park at the Polo Grounds. But
of course that only makes my original point stronger: the Giants-Yankees
rivalry was rooted in the fact that they only met in the World Series (six
times I think while the Giants were still in NY; then again in 62).
