Well, I guess that is not true, I must have seen his name on the credits of Veep, and as I search through our archives here I see his name and some of his previous shows mentioned in the posts related to Veep, but never noticed it or if I did it never registered). I have gotten an overview of him from the Wikis, and I will keep an eye out for his British stuff now. I also had something of an opposite experience with Veep than you - I thought the first couple of episodes were just okay, and then really started liking it the more I watched it. -- TV or Not TV ....
