KIRO had a huge identity problem back in the mid '90s when they temporarily
lost their CBS affiliate status, AND they were among the first to attempt
the out-of-the-box format for news and their logo was an inverted triangle
(gay friendly, but odd station branding). I assume they went to the Circle
7 logo in an attempt to undo the damage and make the station seem more
familiar.

Parenthetical aside: They have a weekend anchor/reporter named Alison who
was a cheerleader at my alma mater. I know she is married now, but, like
Shannen Doherty, one day she will be mine.
