Frank Peppiatt, along with longtime associate John Aylesworth, worked on a 
whole laundry list of variety shows for the likes of Jackie Gleason, Sonny 
& Cher, and Frank Sinatra, but their biggest success was with the 
*Laugh-In*-like 
country-comedyfest that they somehow 'got' despite having not grown up in 
Nashville, where they'd go twice a year to tape raw material that would 
then be hauled to Cali to edit... his memoirs, "When Variety Was King," 
will be printed this spring...
