Scottish Conan Guy's next television special was taped tonight at the Warner Theater in Washington D.C., and I was in the audience. Craig is no doubt beaming back to Los Angeles for today's LLS taping.
My ticket was just to the left of a large section of empty seats (roughly three rows of 8-10 seats each) right in front of the cameras set up at the back of the ground floor of the house. Since these seats were marked as unavailable when I bought my ticket, I'm assuming they were blocked out for the cameras. I can speculate as to why, but I was hoping someone on the list might have direct (or indirect) experience with this kind of thing and tell me if it's a sight line issue, a sound issue, or something entirely different. It was a good show (Geoff's human avatar, Josh Robert Thompson, opened), and I look forward to seeing how the final special differs from the live experience (aside from the inserted bleeps).
