It's as easy to find as a nearby church, synagogue, community center, study group, or counseling session, and people in those places tend to be kind and helpful. I do have a problem with somebody finding religion in a way that negates his/her total identity previous to the conversion. I spent some years living in Jerusalem and I got to know some Jews who went from being secular to being religious. If they were happy with their lives and wanted devotion and participation in ritual to enhance their lives they stayed religious long term and stayed happy. If they turned to religion with the sense that the lives they led up to that point were corrupt and evil they did not become happy and often left the religious life, becoming as hostile to the religious institution as they once became to the secular world they left behind. -- TV or Not TV ....
