Titanic didn't exactly do great numbers in the UK though either. Ambitious,
but it told the story in a completely non-linear structure and so didn't
hold onto audiences.

I think it'll be interesting to see how NBC goes with a serious costume
drama. Making much more than a dozen episodes a year might be stretching
things. I'm not convinced that he quality can be maintained much beyond
that. And since the premise is that it's set amongst the wealthy, that does
begin to make it an expensive series to film. Look at how much HBO spends
on Boardwalk Empire, and how many episodes a year they produce.

I'm also a little worried that Fellowes is stretching himself a bit thin.
Remember he is also a "Lord" which means he's entitled to sit in parliament
too (mind you, so is Christopher Guest, and he's got a new series upcoming
with HBO and the BBC).
