Vaughn is not a Republican. He's Libertarian. This puts him at odds with several Republican platforms, including the religious right and the new Republican philosophy that corporate monopolies are good. Libertarians support gay rights and legalizing drugs. Penn Gillette is libertarian, too. For along time, the favorite hooker for Penn and his wife was a friend of some friends of mine. Nevada is probably the leading state in the nation for Libertarians and they have overthrown the Republican traditionalists in the Nevada Republican party. There's a stand off between the Libertarian-controlled Nevada Republican party and the national Republicans. I don't call myself Libertarian, by the way, but I do say it informs a lot of my beliefs.
