??? I'm not sure I'm following you. The only thing that happened "3 [years] and change" ago was the rebranding of the channel from "Sci-Fi" to "Syfy", ostensibly to give them the ability to trademark their brand, which they couldn't do with "Sci-Fi" since it was considered public domain as the common name for the science fiction genre. The old "Sci-Fi" channel had indeed been around since 1992, under various brands. Unless you're trying to make a point that's not very obvious from your post?
