What "transition" does she want made seamless? The nets just insert
placeholder commercials in the slots reserved for the locals (so that
there's no dead air if the local technicians are asleep at the switch), and
the locals are supposed to insert their commercials into the feed over top
of them. Kinda hard to ask for your money back, if you're the one screwing
up the process. J

Subject: [TV orNotTV] Local ad breaks on cable

Piddling, I know, but recall that I have an elderly bedridden mother whose
TV is on as long as she's awake...

For those of you still wired, are your local commercials not appearing as
quickly as possible when a network tosses it to them?

Service Electric, even for keeping up with all the latest systems, still
takes as much as 2 seconds before theirs kick in.

She feels the locals should ask for their money back unless the transition
can be made seamless, tho AFAIK this is a process which still varies widely
between networks...
