The arts channel disappeared in Time Warner Cable homes yesterday and the MSO indicated that a lot of channels--including such high profile channels as Lifetime, E!, Hallmark Channel, Encore (ahead of HBO among subscribers to premium channels thanks to being included in many systems' upper basic tiers), Starz and the partially-owned by TWC audio service Music Choice--that are up for renewal this year may get the axe, in the name of trying to control costs and responding to customer complaints about pricing:
