I presume it's an all-time record for a PBS program and it's an all-time 
record for that particular series (if not the "Masterpiece" franchise 
itself)--in household ratings it was second in the 9 p.m. time slot (in 
those markets where it aired at 9 ET/8 CT) only to "The Good Wife" and did 
better than three-out-of-the-Big Four's evening-long numbers (Fox's huge 
numbers distorted by a 42 share for the runover of the NFC wild card game):

If it wasn't for WGBH's co-production, would NBCU (who owns producers 
Carnival) be considering trying to put the show on NBC in America?
