APT. 23 has actually become my favorite of the scattering of post- FRIENDS singles-in-the-city ensemble sitcoms, neck and neck with NEW GIRL which has smartly toned down Zooey's insufferable wackiness. The writing and situations are certainly more organic and plausible and less forced than those on HAPPY ENDINGS and even HIMYM of late. Hey! They're not afraid to offend delicate sensibilities. Dreama Walker is cute without making me gag, James Van Der Beek has surprised me with his willingness to make an ass of himself for my amusement. And Krysten Ritter is an evil, lanky goddess. I'll be sorry to see the show get dumped.
