Zucker is stamping his image all over CNN:
http://www.politico.com/story/2013/01/jeff-zuckers-cnn-86911.html

"In the last 24 hours, CNN has poached yet another big name from ABC News,
dropped one top executive and saw the departure of three well-known
contributors, and announced the launch of a new morning program that,
according to network sources, will have ripple effects on the primetime
programming."

Chris Cuomo from ABC’s 20/20, to co-host a new morning show (status of
Soledad O’Brien unknown). James Carville and Mary Matalin, out after 20
years; Red State blogger Erick Erickson out; executive vice president and
managing editor Mark Whitaker stepping down. These changes in addition to
recent announcements of addition of ABC News White House correspondent
Jake Tapper, “Good Morning America” senior Washington producer Virginia
Moseley, and of course sports reporter Rachel Nichols from ESPN.

I don't disagree with Zucker's vision of something more like an old
newspaper for CNN, rather than just a front page. I don't see how his
desire to great personality-based programming is really going to set him
apart from FN and MSNBC, nor how his new team has interesting enough
personalities to compete even if this was a good idea. It might be nice if
he announced beefing up the foreign desk at CNN, which really should be
part of its defining brand in the cable news universe.
