When I was very young (I think 2nd grade) my German teacher was a young woman in her mid-20s. A few friends and I made Nazi jokes about her accent the first week of class and she left the room in tears, which lead to a serious meeting between us and a series of grown-ups, explaining that not all Germans were Nazis, and that it was not nice to make that assumption. But Klum is not a 24 year old elementary school teacher, and I think she can take it. As for the ADL - I guess this kind of thing keeps them in the news and justifies the big donations they ask for, but it serves no purpose. Nobody thinks that Joan Rivers is pro-Holocaust, or even neutral on the subject, we are in no danger as a society of forgetting that the Holocaust was bad, and Holocaust jokes are actually pretty common among Jewish comedians. BTW, I find Rivers to be about as funny as she ever has been on that Fashion Police Show - much better than when she doing the Red Carpet gigs, where she was fingernail-on-chalkboard unwatchable. I don't know if it is because she has more time to write better jokes, or has a better writing staff, or if the kind of bitchy, gossip session context just is the right setting for her humor.
