Basically, if it's on in the two hours before prime time and the one hour
after prime time (or the last hour of prime time for those Fox/MyTV/CW
stations that don't do 10 p.m./9 p.m. CT newscasts), it's doing well.
Seems to me that "30 Rock" bombed in syndication (in Chicago, its 6:30
p.m. time slot on WGN got replaced by "Friends," over 15 years after that
show's network premiere--and "Friends," unlike "The Simpsons," is still in
cash-plus national ads mode and the "closed captioning provided by" fee
plugs) and that if "Earl" is still in cash-plus, it's playing in overnights
and daytime time slots.
