We were discussing viral videos in another thread. Well, this video is making its way across the interwebs, and it begs the question: How can you dislike Mila Kunis?
The backstory: For those who have never experienced a press junket (I worked two), they are when movie critics and reporters are sent to a location to interview celebrities who are promoting a project. The catch is the interview has to be about that project, since the producers are the ones footing the bill to feed, house, and transport the press. In this case, Mila is promoting the latest Oz movie, so if a reporter asked her about doing the voice of Meg on Family Guy, the reporter would either be yelled at or the interview would be halted or the recording of the interview would simply be erased. As a result, the subjects of the interviews have to endure the same dozen question over and over for between 8 to 16 hours, non-stop. In this case, the guy conducting the interview is very young and very nervous, which he expresses to Mila, who gets him to talk about his pub mates (a BBC Radio 1 reporter, hence the UK slang) to loosen him up. But his world is so much more colorful than the same dozen questions, so Mila wants to talk about that instead of the film. What transpires is the dream of many, many men: One of the hottest women on the planet takes an interest in a young, nervous, star-struck guy. It is a spontaneous bit of innocent yet very real flirtation caught on camera -- I wish Hollywood producers would take note of the reporter's genuine response, because if you watch the average rom-com, they get it wrong. To his credit, the reporter rolls with it. Even when the behind-the-scenes people instruct him to refocus on the movie, he seizes the day. To her credit, in order to allow this kid to have his day, Mila rattles off the answers to the same dozen questions rapidly, so he can get back to flirting.
