Over the past year and a half, thanks to Antenna TV, I've caught up on nearly every episode of "It Takes a Thief." Throne was just wonderful in the role of Noah Bain. No nonsense but not uptight, and he had fabulous chemistry with Wagner. When he quit at the beginning of the third season, the show went downhill quickly. Edward Binns, who took over the boss role, was a pale echo. Although he played the role of a mature authority figure to Wagner, he was actually only fourteen months older. (I think one episode mentioned that Wagner's character was 30 years old, or almost a decade younger than Wagner himself.) Every week Wagner got to romance a new woman, and it was always someone young and stunning - Susan Saint James, Yvonne Craig, Tina Louise, Rosemary Forsyth, Tisha Sterling, etc. Throne only got a love interest on one episode - and it was Ida Lupino, who was a decade older than him.
