I read Clavell's Shogun novel in a marathon reading session 30+ years ago
back when I used to do such things. It was an enjoyable enough book until I
studied Japanese history and read about the central events of the book
related to the accession of the Tokugawa shogunate in 1600. Since the
actual historical tale is more compelling I'd rather see a miniseries based
on that.
