My regular pusher of UK TV (yes, I'm an addict) shared this one with
me, and I concur with Adam that it is worth watching, especially for
those unfamiliar with the backstory. Like Adam, I'm also a fan of
Feynman, having read a few of his books (admittedly ones NOT designed
for science experts) and as a kid I remember watching this story, and
his part in it, unfold. My only criticism of his portrayal here is
they didn't show nearly enough of his goofy side. I mean, and I say
this with full respect, he was wacky... nutty-neighbor-in-a-sitcom
weird. His goofiness was a part of his persona, not just the curious
genius, but the demented bongo player and practical joker. All I can
assume is the writers simply made him a dry wit because that is in
keeping with a general stereotype of an intelligent scientist (like
Neil Degrasse Tyson) -- easier to sell and easier to cast (the thought
of Robin Williams or some other spastic actor as Feynman does make me
cringe).

The end credits stated it was a venture from BBC Scotland, with help
from both German and South African sources. I found all of that
interesting.
