I seem to recall that Fuller originally didn't do anything because Cowell had supposedly agreed not to launch "X Factor" in the U.S. until "Idol" had run its course. Basically, Cowell didn't wait, went ahead and started the U.S. version of the series and Fuller reacted with a lawsuit.
