Conan was not bad (Jimmy was better last year). But given the context it
was a tough gig, and he pretty much seemed to be filling time till he could
make his final comments about Boston.

Highlight of the whole night for me was the repeated CNN-bashing, by both
POTUS and COCO. Too bad much of it seemed to focus on their poor ratings
rather than inferior credibility and journalistic standards. Best single
line of the night though belonged to O'Brien - "Chuck Todd stopped a pundit
from speculating on unverified information. There’s no joke here, I’m just
letting the people at CNN know that you can do that.”

I could do without all the celebrity glitz and red carpet treatment, but I
don't mind the event, regardless of who is in the WH. On the list of
elitist, out of touch, insider-obsessed group jerk-off events in
Washington, this one does not even crack the top 100, and is at least
occasionally funny.
