For those who have Roku boxes --
PBS and PBS Kids are now available as
Roku channels. They feature the predictable
on-demand video for some of the primetime
national PBS shows, however when
I added the channel it asked me to tell it
my local station so that led me to think they have
programming produced by local public stations.

This afternoon I was home not feeling too well
so played with the search function for the
PBS Roku channel. It's hard to search because
they don't have the call letters for the producing
station in the title (I hope this is added as a
future update) but I found a lot of local programming
by just looking at random.
I'm a history buff and found a lot of local history
programming that might be interesting
including a Kansas history program
(maybe the former Chief will be on a future
episode to discuss his book -- the newest episode
included is from December). I watched some
Tennessee Civil War 150th episodes.
I tried looking for the humorous history/nostalgia programs
made by Rick Sebak from Pittsburgh because I know
not all of them have been shown nationally but might
be provided by KQED.

I found high school student College Bowl type quiz shows from
several different cities. These would be great for
family and friends in other cities to be able to see.
TV nerds here might be interested in shows from
the Paley Center including interviews with past and
present people from the TV business and programs on
history of channel 13 from NYC.

Anyway, yet another world class timewaster from
Roku along with MLB.tv (why we got the Roku)
and the free Angry Birds.
