Until a replacement is found for departing Fox reality chief Mike Darnell, former Fox Sports chief David Hill, who is now an executive for soon-to-be-split-off News Corp., will be the Fox executive presiding over "American Idol" and "X Factor"--Kevin Reilly cited Hill's experience in producing live programming for Fox Sports as a major factor in the decision and emphasizes that Hill is not Darnell's permanent replacement (one would assume that perhaps the Gordon Ramsay shows, Fox's main out-of-summer thrust of reality programming these days, can ran themselves):
