KGW in Portland, WCNC in Charlotte, KTVK in Phoenix, the pure indie known for a heavy news schedule and airing "Wheel" and "Jeopardy!" in prime time, and WWL in New Orleans) for a total of 43 stations, plus five regional cable news channels--the acquisition makes Gannett the nation's fourth-largest owner of Big 4 network affils in the U.S.:
