I have been distracted with lesser stories this morning (following the reporting on two historic civil rights decisions from SCOTUS), but I have seen a little bit about this as I surf the internet waves. This is an interesting PR stance: "I would not fire myself for calling black employees niggers, but maybe I should fire my minimum wage adolescent African-American kitchen workers for calling each other nigger." I guess that will play well in certain parts of the country. She does bring out an old favorite: "Its so hard for an old white person like me to know what is offensive these days. I hear young black men calling each other nigger, so I just assumed it was ok for me to call them niggers too - and also ok for me to call them monkeys and say I want to dress them up like slaves - but only when serving special events". -- -- TV or Not TV ....
