The writing staff of the E! show say in a YouTube video embedded with the link that they got along beautifully with host Joan Rivers--until they tried to organize with the WGA--and since then she (a WGA member herself) has been shutting them out:
http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/striking-fashion-police-writers-bash-joan-rivers-video-101896 For E!'s part, despite their reputation as a non-union (outside of SAG/AFTRA for talent) shop, they say that they are not anti-WGA and allowed "The Soup" and "Chelsea Lately" to go union (and have WGA writers credited as writers instead of "segment producers")--however, in both cases it took an NLRB election for that to happen. And I will bet that despite NBCU's possible wishes for them to move to the Universal lot (where Chelsea is now taped--I believe on the Jack Benny Soundstage where Conan did his "Tonight Show"), there is no way that E!/Style Network/G4 or Esquire Network or whatever the hell they're calling that channel will move out of the non-union Comcast Digital Television Center in Santa Monica in toto. -- -- TV or Not TV ....
