I wonder when Jon got back to the USA - I was thinking he might have a taped piece that might give a bit of a Middle East POV on the recent events relating to Syria, or at least on his time there; perhaps we will see something like that as the week unfolds. I don't agree about the conflict of interest part though. Andrew Harper works for the UN Refugee Agency, and what he said about Jordan on the show was objectively true. If, as seems likely, Stewart's consciousness about the refugee problem, and its impact on countries like Jordan, was raised by his time there this summer, that would only be expected, but I don't think there was even the whiff that he was only saying nice things about Jordan in exchange for favors he received in making his film. OTOH, I was impressed that he took such a strong swipe at Bill Kristol (much deserved) who sometimes seems to be his house conservative. -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
