Flamboyant car dealer Cal Worthington was famous for his ads co-starring 
all kinds of animals he called "my dog Spot"--along with his competitor 
Ralph Williams, Johnny Carson made many, many references to him on "The 
Tonight Show" and it may be that Worthington was one of the many influences 
on Art Fern and the "Tea Time Movie" sketches:
