 I am somewhat bothered that we still live in a nation in which it is
unlikely that a TV show would get high ratings if it was centered in a
non-white world. I think that is the main reason that even shows based on
non-white starts depict them as interacting mostly with white people. You
are probably more likely to see a White character dating a Black or Indian
character than a Black or Indian character doing so.

But I am more bothered by Nededog's tired racial and ethnic essentialist
(e.g.: "What’s the message being sent when minority female characters on
television exclusively date and regularly lose themselves with white
men?"). If he is going to raise a question like this, he should at least
spend three sentences trying to defend the hoary argument that our "real"
selves are fundamentally defined by our racial or ethnic identity.
