Winfrey moved out of home station WLS and into the former Niles Studios in
the West Loop, home mostly of commercials and industrials (and Marlin
Perkins' intros and transitions--"Like animal mothers take care of their
babies, your financial future will be taken care of by Mutual of Omaha"--on
"Wild Kingdom"), in 1988--when her show ended in 2011 and she started OWN,
Rosie O'Donnell's short-lived talk show for that chanel came out of the
facility and it's been mostly idle since then, although some production
work is done on OWN shows from the facility (and Oprah now lives in
LA)--she's now looking at either selling some of the property or a
refinancing:

Seems to me that if Oprah wanted to keep the studio running, she should've
beared down on one of the OTA syndicated shows she partially owns (Dr.
Phil, Rachael Ray, Dr. Oz) to move to Chicago and Harpo rather than take a
chance on something for the cable channel.
