One week after Joan Rivers made an agreement with the Writers Guild, of 
which she is a member, to call for her E! show to recognize the WGA for the 
writing staff (on a channel that is notorious for its avoidance of unions 
outside of SAG/AFTRA), Larry Amaros got expelled from the union and a $16K 
fine for continuing to write for the show during last spring's strike by 
the writers (an NLRB election for collective bargaining has not been 
scheduled yet and won't be as long as the shutdown continues):
