About a year or so ago, as one of many, many cosmetic and otherwise changes, the most recent being Robin Robinson demoted to a per diem reporter (doing a series called "Chicago at the Tipping Point," which seems to be part of an attempt to make the news shop more Fox News-ish) after she's been the main anchor for the over 25-year existence of this version of the WFLD news shop (which predates both the official prime time launch of Fox and Joan Rivers, but is after Murdoch took over the Metromedia stations). And still more people watch WGN at 9 p.m. and particularly in the mornings, where the WGN "Morning News" (which is as much "news" as the "KTLA Morning News" and "Good Day LA" on KTTV) challenges the networks shows and beats WFLD's "Good Day Chicago." One wonders why they didn't just try to to lure Tom Skilling over from WGN the last time his contract was up and save all of the drama.
