I have a few nits to pick with the linked article:
1. It states that the main reason for The Voice moving to Thursday this
week was so Blake could collect his hardware. Perhaps - but NBC has been
planing this since at least they cancelled "Welcome to the Family" on
October 18 - when they announced they would be airing The Voice on
Thursday, November 7 (see:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/18/welcome-to-the-family-canceled_n_4124848.html).
Now, perhaps they were going to do this anyway, even had they not cancelled
WTTF, but there was nothing last minute about it.

2. The article implies that there is room for some debate within NBC about
whether moving The Voice was a good thing for them. This seems unlikely to
me, for at least three reasons:
     a. 16.6 million people watched the CMAs (I was not one of them) - even
if they never mentioned the singing competition show by name, anytime Blake
Sheldon is featured in such a manor, it is better than several free network
commercials for The Voice - and on a rival network too. And it feeds the
credibility Sheldon already has as a legit recording star and concert
ticket seller, which helps the show. What can be bad about that for NBC?
    b. While the Thursday Voice ratings were lower than what they would
have been on Wednesday, as the article itself notes they were higher than
anything else NBC has had on Thursday all Fall. I think they were hyping
the MJF show pretty hard, and I am sure they are happy to use the Voice to
pump its Thursday night shows a little in the way they have been doing the
M-T (and now W) shows.
    c. Sheldon has expressed some irritation that his contract has
committed him to doing two runs of The Voice per year, which has cut into
his concert schedule. Cee Low and Miss Thing got a break last spring, but
so far he and Adam have not (I am assuming they will give them both a break
this spring, but maybe not). Making this schedule change for him is a small
price to pay to try to make him a little happy.

I doubt there has been any debate inside NBC about whether this move was
worth it.

BTW - I have been watching some early season 2 episodes of Revolution On
Demand today; NBC is still running that commercial with the stars of its 4
Thursday sitcoms, encouraging us to watch them, including the long
cancelled "Welcome To The Family". So far the episodes I have been watching
were originally aired before the cancellation, but I thought they were able
to substitute in different commercials for the On Demand than what they use
during original broadcast, and it seems like a waste to keep using this
particular ad.
