As much as I like Karl Urban and Michael Ealy, I have been unable to watch the
program.  It has screamed to me that it was little better than a series version
of the Will Smith "I, Robot" movie (if he ended up partnering with the robot).
Which I *loathed*.

The frequent eviscerations of episodes on io9 have not dispelled me of this
notion.  The emerging view there is that it's an 80s cop show that is
increasingly ditching any connection to its science-fiction moorings.

Subject: [TV orNotTV] Almost Human

I just caught up on this show today - I think its pretty good. As I think was
noted here some time ago, it is not exactly the most unique idea for a show,
but I think they are executing it decently.

One problem though is that Minka Kelly is one of the most absurdly attractive
women to ever work in television. As an actress she probably makes Carrie
Underwood look like Meryl Streep (I still have not seen SOM), but the show does
not make a lot of demands on her. But (and it is not really fair to her) every
time the camera turns on her it is just unbelievable that a woman like this is
a detective in a grimy precinct. And yes, I am saying that it is more
believable that there is an android cop with a human soul and human cop with an
android leg that he plugs in every morning than that Minka Kelly is a detective.
