The money, from several foundations (including the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation and longtime pubcasting supporter the Ford Foundation) will go
to increased coverage of education, global health and development, race,
ethnicity and culture, along with creating new web and mobile platforms for
NPR content (which will probably leave some stations grumbling about losing
that exclusive place for :hearing those champion fundraisers "Morning
Edition" and "All Things Considered":

In addition to NPR, the grant money is going to LA's KPCC, SF's KQED, the
Minnesota Public Radio network, Boston's WBUR, Philadelphia's WHYY and NY's
WNYC.
