Brian Lowry of Variety argues that until Big Jaw decides what he wants to 
do after he's supposed to leave "The Tonight Show," he will continue to 
hang heavy over NBC--the only ways to avoid this, in his mind, is to either 
let Leno do "The Tonight Show" until he says he's ready to go or offer him 
a similar contract to do regular prime time specials and be another Bob 
Hope that supposedly Carson turned down when he announced his retirement:
