Jeffrey Ian Pollack ran Medina/Pollack Entertainment with Benny Medina, the real-life inspiration for "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air" (Will Smith was already known while he was in Philly from his rap hits with DJ Jazzy Jeff before he made the sitcom) and did some directing, most notably (if you can say that) the Jamie Foxx comedy "Booty Call" (which one critic said was a reason why Foxx could never win an Oscar, even for "Ray")--he died in jogging clothing with his iPod playing the Eagles on the greenway in Hermosa Beach Monday:
