These ladies kicked Katie's ass, no question. I have a bit of a quibble
though with the way the article linked here addresses this. There is no
sense in which Katie is functioning as a journalist here, and to put it in
that frame makes it difficult to evaluate anything about this properly. I
disagree with the author of the piece in that I don't think journalists are
under any obligation to read the comfort level or agenda of the person they
are interviewing and stay within that. Indeed, one might say that the
journalists job is often to do the opposite of that.

But the transgender status of these ladies is not news, and they are not on
the show to be interviewed by a journalist. As guests on a talk show they
do deserve the kind of consideration the author of the piece suggests.

Katie is not always this stupid, but she often is, especially when she
adopts the role of mouthpiece for the masses.
