I'm not as certain as Moran seems to be that UK TV criticism is in such a strong state of health right now. Ever since Clive James there have been reviewers who seem to prefer to use the TV review column as their own personal column rather than reporting on the facts. Put it this way, a theatre or film critic would get short shrift if they wrote in the same style as some TV critics do. Still - this is all irrelevant to 99% of the people here!
