At winter press tour, Fox programming chief Kevin Reilly claims that the whole process of writing and shooting pilots during the winter and spring for the season announcement at the May upfronts is officially dead at Fox and that pilot pitches will be welcome all year long--the fact that the "24" reboot is airing during the summer, that part of the year that used to be Mike Darnell's playpen, indicates that Fox wants to be an original scripted player throughout the year:
