She really didn't want to be seen on camera. I remember the 1996 incident when a burning car crashed outside their house and Harmon used a sledgehammer to break the car windows and pull two teenage boys to safety. Afterwards, Harmon and Dawber had a mini-press conference on their lawn, and once all the questions had been answered, Dawber said something like "Thank you, but we'd really like to be left alone right now," and then they walked back into their house.
