As regular readers might have inferred, I think Morgan is a pompous oaf,
and I can't imagine what CNN was thinking in the first place when they
hired him for this gig. But I'm disappointed that I suspect this means
we'll get more of him back on British TV.

That all said, I also find the reasoning in the NYT article highly suspect.
I note that are other non-American voices doing perfectly well in US news
networks and divisions. While it might be heretical to even mention his
name in the same paragraph as Piers "Moron", I don't think anybody ever
claimed that Alastair Cooke didn't understand America. I grant you he may
have lived there longer though. And I'm pretty sure that if David Frost had
chosen to do a nightly news show he'd have been fine.

It's a very strange argument - and what shaped ball he prefers in his
sports really doesn't matter.
