Pilot and cameraman killed, and a man on the ground suffered major burns and is in critical condition.
I know people who work at KING and KIRO, but I don't believe I know anybody at KOMO. I do know that area of Seattle well enough to know that pilot probably got himself killed trying to crash in the one spot that wasn't overpopulated with people. I've tried watching the live streams of all three Seattle affiliates, but I had to stop. They were all quickly reduced to eyewitnesses who only happened to see what happened as they stepped outside to spark up a joint -- to say they were not eloquent is putting it mildly. At a lot of TV markets, the people who work in the news divisions are very quick to jump away to bigger and better. I don't have hard data, but I'd venture to say Seattle has one of the lowest turnover rates in the business. I personally know people who have been there 20 years, and know of several others who have been there even longer. All this is my way of saying this will be a tough blow to the Seattle TV news community -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
