The buzz feed headline is a bit misleading. Sorkin was not really
apologizing for Newsroom, he was apologizing for the media's
misunderstanding of what he is trying to do with Newsroom. He is not trying
to give them a journalism lesson, never intended to, and never said he was.

I don't now how seriously professional journalists were taking this, but I
know a lot of them found the time to publish their anger or resentment at
Sorkin.
