I'm glad you wrote this. In addition to Kevin I received 3 or 4 other links to this video, and nobody has yet explained to me the basis for the implication that the guy is overreacting. He actually seems to be very calm, and he appears to be trying to get other people out first, and then himself.
If we could predict earthquakes with even a 50% accuracy, and the indication was that a big one was about to hit right where the TV studio was, I don't think we would mind if the anchors went for their desk or other appropriate shelters.
