"Make a Band Famous" will start on June 11 at 8 p.m. ET at vh1.com and will involve 24 bands in a continuous 24-hour competition involving various challenges (like learning a cover song in an hour or doing a toy instrument version of an oldie but goodie), the winner to receive a contract with Republic Records, a gig at Brooklyn's Northside Festival and a series of "You Oughta Know" spots (and airplay on the channel's 6 a.m. vidclip blocks):
