I've been watching "Maverick" on DVD lately, and Zimbalist had a recurring role on the show as gambler Dandy Jim Buckley in the early seasons, before he started "77 Sunset Strip." He was a lot of fun in that role, as he was when he played Daniel Chalmers on "Remington Steele." (BTW, the "Steele" producers gave him the corniest death scene ever.) He was American, but his voice almost sounded British - a bit like Ronald Colman. So sophisticated characters always suited him. -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
