Margaret Loesch, the kids TV veteran who (with the help of Hasbro) remade 
Discovery Kids into the Hub, bringing back the toy ad cartoon show from the 
80s but making one particular example, "My Little Pony:  Friendship is 
Magic," a surprisingly quality effort (and attracting a cult of adult male 
fans known as "Bronies"), is leaving the channel at the end of the year as 
president and CEO--no indication where she may be going, but she says that 
she is leaving the channel in good hands, making a profit, getting viewers 
and awards and providing an alternative to Disney and Nick, which seem to 
be unable to develop not much else than multi-cam sitcoms:
