During one of the breaks in tonight's Jeopardy!, Mr. Trebek was recognized by the Guinness Book as holding the record for most hosting appearances on a game show, with 6,829, as of tonight's (6/13) show.
I am assuming, but have not been able to confirm, that Alex has taken the record from Bob Barker. Unfortunately, any references I have seen for Bob and the Guinness Book predate his retirement (and the announcement today doesn't mention who Alex succeeded as record holder). Episode counts for The Price Is Right I've found do not break it down by host. Since Drew has been host for almost 7 years, and the total number of TPIR shows is roughly 8000 as of April, it makes sense that Bob would have been around 6800 shows when he retired in 2007. Is there any chance it could be someone besides Bob? David -- -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
